Two busted on meth charges
Allen Hoke, 31, of St. Louis, and Richard McCallister, 56, of the 500 block of Pike Lane in Troy, Ill., were both charged with possession of meth precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container. Both remain in the Buzz Westfall Justice Center in Clayton on $20,000 bond.St. Louis County Police said an officer patrolling in the area of the Motel 6 in the 1800 block Bowles Avenue on July 7 was flagged down by motel customers and told of some suspicious activity in one of the rooms. The room's occupants were not present at the time and after watching the room for several hours officers saw the suspects pull up in a red Mercury Marquis. When officers knocked on the door and were allowed inside both men were arrested for outstanding warrants. During a search police discovered many of the precursors in the manufacturing of methamphetamine including glass bottles, funnels, several boxes of matches, a white powder substance in a coffee grinder and several other chemicals needed to make the drug, police said. A search of the vehicle's trunk led to the discovery of a propane tank containing anhydrous ammonia, police said. |
